Under the Act Respecting Private Education, private, non-subsidized institutions are for-profit institutions for which the Minister responsible for Higher Education issues, under certain conditions, a licence authorizing them to offer collegial education. In fact, all establishments within this category offer one or more short-term programs in a field specific to a program of technical studies. Generaly, the programs they offer are intended for adults and lead to an attestation of college studies (ACS). However, these institutions sometimes offer programs leading to a diploma of college studies (DCS).
There are 48 private, non-subsidized establishments.
